Who loves to move from home to home? Who loves packing up all their stuff over and over again? Well, you would think that my husband and I do, because we are moving again. David and I have been married for almost 5 years. In those 5 years, we have moved 3 times and this month will be our fourth. AAHHHHHH!!!! We just can’t seem to stay in one place for more than a year. By now, you could say I am a professional mover.

Its not that I love moving, because I don’t! My husband and I just haven’t found a place we really love. We are not ready to buy and as renters we have had to deal with property management, small spaces, rent going up, etc.  Moving as many times as we have, has taught us that we need to be a little bit picky, but also that we are not always going to get exactly what we want.

Our first place was a small 2 bedroom apartment. At the time we only had Thomas, so it worked. We decided it was definitely time for a bigger place when Liam was born. We found a 3 bedroom, 2 story house with a loft. I didn’t love the stairs or the fact that there wasn’t a backyard. I really liked the neighbors because they were nice and they all had kids. Unfortunately, after only living there for about 6 months we knew that we didn’t want to live there anymore, let’s just say the property management had a bad reputation and didn’t handle situations the way they should of.

It worked out though, because the house was too big for us anyways. We decided to downgrade and go back to a 2 bedroom apartment.  The apartment we are in now is okay, but it was put together poorly and everything is falling apart. Also the rent is going way up and it is just not worth it to stay.

Moving is not an easy task and it is very time consuming. I try to stay as organized as possible during our move.  First thing I do is gather all the supplies I need: boxes, packing tape, sharpies, bubble wrap, shrink wrap, newspaper, etc. I tend to start packing earlier than I probably should. I start packing stuff like holiday decor, wall art, pictures, and clothes that are not in season. Cleaning is the last thing I do. Cleaning is always a must, especially if you want your deposit back. I would clean the place anyways, even if I wasn’t getting a deposit back. There is one last thing to do…  DON’T FORGET to change your address on everything!!!
