What success means.

“Success is going from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm.” -Winston Churchill

When you fail, fail forward. We can learn from our mistakes. We just don’t give up, we keep on going. There is a book called Failing Forward: Turning Mistakes into Stepping Stones for Success by John C. Maxwell that is about helping men and women move past their mistakes by doing their absolute best to achieve success. It helps people get over their fears, because the more you practice something, the better you will be at it. We all have fears in life, but if we face them over and over again, eventually it will become natural to us.

What failure means.

“Winners are not afraid of losing. But losers are. Failure is part of the process of success. People who avoid failure also avoid success.” – Robert T. Kiyosaki

There is no such thing as failure. There are only results. Our failures are what makes us stronger. You can not fail unless you give up. If you want to be successful, you must embrace the failure. Jeremy Bloom’s book Fueled By Failure: Using Detours and Defeats to Power Progress talks about how to overcome your defeats. Let your defeats be your motivation to your success.

I wanted to discuss with you the 4 degrees of action from the book The 10X Rule: The Only Difference Between Success and Failure by Grant Cardone. This book explains why people get stuck in the first 3 action steps, why some people fail rather than succeed, and how to make the 4th degree a way of life. This was taught to me by someone very close to me, that I look up to like a brother. Andrew is also one of the sharpest, hardworking people I know.

4 degrees of action.

1. “Do nothing”

It sounds just like it reads, “do nothing.” You are not taking the steps to move forward to better yourself, or to achieve success. This step may seem like there is no work to be done, but doing nothing actually involves work.

2. Retreat

At this level you are moving backwards. You are afraid of taking action because you are afraid you may fail. You are afraid of having a negative experience. This is where the “fear of success” comes in.

3. Normal levels of action

This is the most dangerous level of action. This is where most people are today. I call this level of action the comfort zone. People are okay being at this level of action.

4. Massive levels of action

This level is the most natural level of action. People at this level may be called obsessive, greedy, workaholics, or driven.

We must treat success as our duty, obligation, and responsibility. No one is stopping us from being successful except for ourselves. It starts with you and ends with you. We must approach each day as if our life and future depend on our ability to take action.

What level I am

I have always been at the normal level of action. To me living comfortably was okay, as long as I could pay my bills and treat myself every now and then. That changed after I got married and had kids. I want my kids to have everything they want and more, and I didn’t want to settle anymore. Getting out of my comfort zone and learning new things was at the top of my list. I wanted to take on new opportunities that were going to push me to achieve success.

My husband and I decided we were going to take a chance. We knew we wanted better for ourselves and for our kids. We didn’t want to live the normal life, we wanted fun and adventure. So in February of 2015 we were introduced to an amazing company. We are blessed, because the people we work with have become our second family. This is where our passion for helping people came in. We help people make money and save money in the right places.

Our journey started 2 years ago and it has been a roller coaster of a ride. We have faced the struggles over and over again, but we keep fighting. The struggles are what make us stronger. We have both grown so much. It has made us want to do more, to learn more, and grow more. It has changed our mindset, our way of thinking. That is why I started blogging.

I want to share our stories, our successes, and our failures with you. Please know that failing is okay, but fail forward. Learn from your failures. Just know that no matter what, don’t give up! If you take massive action to achieve success, it will happen!
